The old temples contain retaining monolithic walls weighing over 300 tons each.

There are multiple 100 ton stones in Baalbek as well.

The Temple of Baal/ Jupiter was built during the rule of Emperor Augustus toward the end of the first century BC, it was finally finished in 60 AD.

This was the largest religious edifice ever created by the Romans.

This place is one of the biggest Ancient mysteries of the Ancient World.

The ruins of a previous Baalbek Temple were built over by the famous Temple of Jupiter.
